Intro:
This will be my little article about Savannah cats. These
cats are so beautiful I just had to do a post on them.

Breed Info:
The Savannah is a cross between a Serval & a Domestic cat and is considered a Domestic Hybrid Cat Breed.

History & Origin:
The first savannah cat ever breed was a cross between a Serval and Siamese cat on April 7th 1986 by breeder Judee Frank. They decided to name the first kitty Savannah which is where the breeds name started.
The Savannah cat did not become popular till the end of the 20th century and was accepted into the International Cat Association in 2001 as a breed.

Physical Appearance:
This Breed is in the large category of domestic cats.
The Savannah cat has a long legs and is tall making it appear bigger than it actually is in weight.
The Savannah cats weight depends on the generation the cat is from, older generation cats weighing the most ( 20 pounds or more!) but the average weight of a savannah cat is 7 to 30 pounds.

The Savannah cat as you can see from the pictures Is manly Brown/tan with Black spots and stripes but They can also have white/gray coloring depending on the domestic cat they are breed from.

Personality:
Most people that own a savannah would say they are more like a dog then a cat. You can teach them to fetch and walk them on a leash! They have very strong jumping ability so be prepared to find them in high up places in your house. Most Savannahs do not fear water, They often like to play in it and some owners will take a shower with them! These Cats vocals can sound like a chirping from there Serval Ancestors or a regular meow from they Domestic cat ancestors usually depending on their generation.

Health Issues / Conditions:
The Savannah cats do not have any known major health problems other than early generation may have the trait of having a small liver like their Serval ancestors and different blood values than regular domestic cats. Due to these traits they may inherent they may regular smaller doses of medication than other cats. They also do not respond well to anesthesia containing Ketamine which you would have to discuss with your vet before any surgical procedures.

How to potty ( litter box train ) train your kitten or cat

How to Potty train / litter train your kitten or cat:

First off I am going to go over things you shouldn't and should do to help you on your potty training experience:
You are going to want to place the litter box in a room that is not very busy also you want to make sure that the litter box is nice and clean (does not smell like other cats) preferable get the kitten there own litter box.

Make sure you do not get frustrated with your kitten or cat and yell or get angry because this will make them associate potty training with being punished! this will make your job much harder.

Warning: Do not buy clay clumping litter it can make the kitten choke or get caught in there intestines if ingested.

Now We shall move on to getting started:
Little kittens will have accidents ALOT so first off if you see signs he/she has to go potty pick them up and place them in the litter box.
Signs a cat has to go to the bathroom are:
-Is Scratching on the carpet/tile ect.
-Goes in a corner or a secluded place some being be hide a couch or under the bed.
-Will stop what there doing and walk run away.

The times you should place your cat in the litter box are to help train them are after they eat and when they wake up from naps throughout the day.

If you cat refuses to go when you place them in the litter box try to make it fun, use ur finger in the litter box and splash around the litter.

MAKE SURE YOU PRAISE YOUR CAT ALOT WHEN THEY DO USE THE LITTER BOX!!

I hope this article helped you :)
